ATCO Gas - Odd Size Unprotected Steel Project

The Mayland’s Replacement project involves the replacement of DN635mm Steel Medium pressure pipeline, which is located in Railway Parade.

This Project had a great degree of difficulty which resulted in extensive planning and project management to ensure there the public and relevant authoritys were communicated with. As the Strings were at times over 120M in length running down the streets traffic management was also extensive to accommodate our needs. The rail crossing in this project was crossing underneath Whatley Crescent underneath the railway reserve to Railway parade. During this road crossing the public transport authority and APA were required on site for the identification and protection of their assets. Upon completion of the drill shot the rail was required to be surveyed to ensure the rail height had not altered as per standard regulations.

Another challenging part of this project was drilling down the middle of Guildford rd between railway parade and east parade. Again this required extensive project management and communication due to night works and the disruption to local govt and residents. As part of Main roads stipulation to gaining access to the road we were required to work during certain hours due to extreme traffic volumes.

Stage 2- install approximately 2.2 km of 225mm PE from Eighth Street to May Street.
Stage 3 - install approximately 300 m of 160 PE from Guildford Road to Railway parade.
Stage 4 - install approximately 200m of 225mm PE from the Bayswater compound to the north side of railway parade. This stage will include an HDD rail crossing to be installed within a DN355 SDR 13.6 PE100 sleeve. The rail crossing must be installed as per PTA conditions including restriction of hours of works.
Stage 5 - Install approximately 100m of 63mm SDR 11 & 54m of 110mm SDR 17 in Chertsey St from Guildford Rd to West Parade.
